Following riots in February 2008, President Paul Biya had decided to implement dual therapy: the suspension of duty on several food items including fish, flour, wheat, rice and upgrading 15% of salaries. Today, social tensions accumulate with an increase in electricity prices, recurrent shortages of water, pre-electoral disputes, rumors of coup etc.
